What does Soundproofing mean?
Soundproofing is the set of solutions that reduce the transmission of noise between rooms or from outside to inside. It is achieved with sound-absorbing and sound-insulating materials applied to walls, floors, ceilings and windows.
At home the critical points are the boundaries between apartments, pipes, windows and footfall noise. Measures such as plasterboard stud walls with mineral wool or floating floors noticeably improve acoustic comfort.
